Dear Parishioners of St Teresa of Avila Church,
I do hope this note finds you healthy and safe at home with your families during these very uncertain times. The staff at St Teresa of Avila are all safe, well and working form home. I want you all to know we miss you so very much. The Staff meets twice a week via Zoom, what an amazing gift that has been for all of us. Zoom has allowed us to continue with our work and meetings, and it also allows for a twice a week well check with each other.
We have decided as a staff that we would be reaching out to all of you so don’t be surprised if you get a well check phone call from one of us. We are doing our best to stay connected to this great community but there’s always room for improvement so please feel free to reach out with questions, thoughts and new ideas. Charisse is getting all phone calls that come into the rectory office, feel free to leave a message otherwise all our emails are listed on the website, please reach out anytime.
We are doing our best to stay connected and support Fr Frank as best we can, we are continuing with all masses and you should be able to access them though our website, teresa.church. We are incredibly grateful for the technical support of two people currently, John DeWyze and Raphael Kelling. If you happen to see them around the parish when we are back together, make sure to say thank you, they are a big part of why we are staying so connected.
We are continuing with our Outreach Ministries of Loaves & Fishes Fridays 4pm to 6pm and Food Pantry Saturdays 9:30am to 11am. The volunteers running these ministries are taking all necessary precautions to keep volunteers and guests safe. We feel these are essential services and should continue to be offered at St Teresa of Avila. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers that have given of their time and effort, without them ministries like this can not exist.
Financials are now listed on the website and thanks to the efforts of many, a larger majority of our parishioners, about 75% are already donating through Give Central. Because of this we are in a good financial place. There is an obvious drop in Sunday Basket Collections due to of course not having Sunday mass. Please know that if you are able and want to give you can access Give Central though our website. You can also send a check in the mail as I myself am coming into the parish weekly to go through mail, pay bills and make a weekly deposit. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are having trouble with any of this, I am more than happy to help with this process, in any way that I can.
We do not have a return to work date yet, but we will continue to keep you updated with all the necessary information from the Archdiocese. Continue to check the website on a very regular basis and if you are on social media, we have a Facebook page and an Instagram. Please know that we are all here for you, praying for you and looking forward to the day when we can come back together as a community.
