The greatest gift you can give yourself is to discover Christ in very unlikely places. Allow yourself to be surprised through the power of grace, God’s presence, to SEE through the eyes of love. Grace expands our vision of sight.
Many of Jesus’s own people could not SEE Him beyond that of being the son of Mary and a local carpenter. They had Jesus pegged, labeled, and refused to SEE Him in any other way. His prophetic words about God working wonders in unlikely ways was just too much for the people. “A prophet has honor except in his own native place.” Familiarity can easily breed contempt because we set the parameters and limits in which people must live.
