Just arrived in Rome. The traveling was great with no setbacks or glitches. My room overlooks St. Peter’s and it had a balcony!! I got the balcony because I am the “senior” priest here: the oldest and longest ordained!! I’ll take the “room with a view!”
In the gospel read at our first Mass this evening, Jesus calls the first disciples on the seashore and they simply “let go” of their nets. Jesus is calling you to follow him, right now, in your current way of living, not to change careers or vocations, but to “let go” of the nets of fear, depression, addiction, bitterness…. all the attitudes of the heart that suffocate and mire the center of our beings.
What do you need to let go of?
