Summer Young Adult Series 2025

All people aged 22-35 are welcome to join St. Teresa for monthly conversations this summer on faith, life and being a young person in Today's world. Each session will be 7-9 PM at Beermiscuous ( 2812 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60657) on each day.

Fr. Paul Shelton, SJ - June 18

Fr. Paul J. Shelton, S.J. is the provincial assistant for vocations for the Midwest Jesuits. For the past two years he has served as a Eucharistic preacher for the National Eucharistic Revival

Aleja Sastoque Luna - July 16

Aleja Sastoque is the Assistant Director of Campus Minister - Faith Communities at Loyola University Chicago. In this role, she coordinates the Christian Life Community Program (CLC) and Theology of Healing Earth in Action (THEA) Institute, forms, prepares and leads retreats for the students at Lake Shore Campus, and oversees Water Tower Campus Ministry programs.

Aleja earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (BS) in her native Colombia, and her Master’s degrees in Divinity and Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University Chicago. She is a missionary who likes to help youth and young adults to discover their vocation. Aleja also helps to run youth and young adult groups at St. Mark’s Parish in Kenosha, WI, and volunteers at a shelter for women who’ve experienced domestic violence. She stays focused on each person’s needs while accompanying them on their personal journey. Aleja is bilingual, and is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Karen Ross, PhD - August 20

Karen Ross, PhD (she/her/ella) is a graduate program director, theology and ethics professor, and yoga and mindfulness instructor. She currently works at Catholic Theological Union as the director of the Pathways@CTU program, which seeks to engage young people- especially those from marginalized communities- in co-creating the church of tomorrow. She received her PhD in theology and ethics from Loyola University Chicago, and her research focuses on feminist ethics and Catholic sexuality education, particularly of young women and girls.
